CASABLANCA – RABAT – MEKNES – VOLUBILIS – FES

Meet your private driver in Casablanca at your hotel, riad, airport or another agreed location and begin the journey toward Fes. Approximate driving time is around 4½–5½ hours, excluding sightseeing, meals and comfort stops. Depending on your starting time, the first stop can be Rabat, Morocco’s capital. Visit some of the city’s principal landmarks before continuing east toward Meknes. The route then passes close to Volubilis, where you can visit the archaeological remains of the Roman city before continuing to Fes. Casablanca blends modern Atlantic city life with heritage sites such as the Hassan II Mosque, whose visits depend on hours and availability.

Fes

Spend the day discovering Fes, one of Morocco’s historic imperial cities. This is mainly a sightseeing day, with only short local transfers between the medina, viewpoints and other planned stops. The old medina of Fes el- Bali contains a dense network of streets, traditional workshops, markets, religious buildings and historic architecture. A local guide can be arranged to help you explore the medina and understand its history and layout. Possible stops include traditional artisan areas, viewpoints over the old city and important historic sites accessible during your visit. Fes has a historic medina of lanes, artisan workshops and traditional architecture; guiding or admissions are included only when booked.

FES – MIDELT – ERFOUD – RISSANI – MERZOUGA

Leave Fes and travel south toward the Sahara. Approximate driving time is around 7–8 hours, excluding sightseeing, lunch and rest stops. This is one of the longest driving days of the tour. The landscape changes considerably during the day as the route crosses the Middle Atlas and continues toward southeastern Morocco. Possible stops include Ifrane, cedar- forest areas near Azrou and viewpoints along the road toward Midelt. Continue through the Ziz Valley, known for its palm- filled oasis landscapes, before passing Erfoud and heading toward Merzouga. After arriving near the Erg Chebbi dunes, prepare for your Sahara experience. Depending on the arrangements confirmed for your tour, travel toward the desert camp by camel or suitable desert transport.

MERZOUGA – RISSANI – TODRA GORGE – DADES GORGES

Wake early if you would like to see sunrise over the Erg Chebbi dunes. After breakfast, leave Merzouga and continue through southeastern Morocco. Approximate driving time is around 4½–5½ hours, excluding sightseeing and breaks. The route can include Rissani before continuing toward Tinghir and Todra Gorge. Stop near the gorge to walk between the high rock walls and enjoy the scenery surrounding the Todra Valley. Continue toward Dades Valley, passing villages, rocky landscapes and cultivated areas along the way. DADES GORGES – OUARZAZATE – AIT BEN HADDOU – TIZI N’TICHKA – MARRAKECH

After breakfast, depart the Dades region and travel toward Ouarzazate through the landscapes of southern Morocco. Approximate driving time is around 6–7 hours, excluding the visit to Ait Ben Haddou, meals and scenic stops. Mountain- road conditions and traffic approaching Marrakech can affect the final arrival time . Continue to Ait Benhaddou, the well- known fortified settlement located along the former caravan route between the Sahara and Marrakech. Time can be allowed to explore the ksar before continuing toward the High Atlas Mountains. Cross the mountain route toward Marrakech, with stops at suitable viewpoints when time and road conditions allow. Arrival in Marrakech is normally during the late afternoon or evening.
