FES – MIDELT – ERFOUD – RISSANI – MERZOUGA After breakfast, depart Fes for Merzouga. Rather than rushing through Midelt, Erfoud and Rissani, the itinerary gives these places a meaningful role in the day and keeps the driving balanced with sightseeing. Midelt provides a natural pause between the Middle Atlas and the Ziz Valley, framed by mountain scenery. Erfoud is a gateway to the Tafilalt region, known for date palms, fossils and the transition from oasis towns to the Sahara. This stage combines a camel trek into Erg Chebbi, sunset over the dunes, a Sahara camp evening. With no coach timetable to follow, photo stops, refreshments and short walks can fit naturally into the day.
Day 2
MERZOUGA – RISSANI – TODRA GORGES – DADES GORGES Continue from Merzouga to Dades Gorges on a private route through Rissani and Todra Gorges. The schedule is deliberately adaptable, so road conditions, daylight and your interests can shape the exact timing of each stop. Rissani offers a glimpse of the Tafilalt’s trading history and, on market days, one of the region’s liveliest traditional souks.
